Straight Shooters C.V.C. Inc.

Created in 2011, Straight Shooters C.V.C. Inc is designed to help student-athletes navigate through the tough years of youth and high school basketball. Founded by Coach Brian Fruscio, the purpose of Straight Shooters is to promote the sport of basketball through games, clinics,basketball camps and individual instruction. Based on our Core Values - Integrity, Honesty, Leadership, Sportsmanship and Teamwork, Straight Shooters also values giving back to our community. Straight Shooters C.V.C. Inc. has partnered with the America Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches through the Coaches vs Cancer program (CVC). Coach Fruscio and the Albany Academies were presented the Coaches vs. Cancer Inspiration Award in 2010 by the local American Cancer Society. Straight Shooters C.V.C Inc. will be looking to empower basketball coaches, their teams, and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer. The Organization will provide guidance to student-athletes as they pursue their youth and high school basketball experiences. There are many ways to be a straight shooter, positive teammate, and to make a difference in the community.

The Vision

Straight Shooters will support parents and communities with the direction of our young people. Becoming a STRAIGHT SHOOTER on the court is important and developing your basketball skills is necessary for basketball success. Becoming a STRAIGHT SHOOTER off the court is equally important and we will be looking to develop young people with our Straight Shooting CORE VALUES.

Coach Brian Fruscio has seen his dream start to take place as he works with a selected group of 4th and 5th graders. This aspect of the program started in November of 2012. The program runs every week and focuses on the Core Values, Study Habits and Basketball Skill. We are looking to add a group of 4th graders every year until the program has 40 students that are STRAIGHT SHOOTERS.

Core Values

We will integrate our Core Values into our Camp stations, Clinics, and Lectures. We will also be discussing Community Awareness and becoming part of a bigger team: Our Local Community. The Staff with the leadership of Coach Brian Fruscio will look to model and discuss the Core Values and help the young players to become true STRAIGHT SHOOTERS.
